Baby Celebration Invitations

Baby Showers, however considered as an American tradition rather that something we do here in the UK, has become increasingly obvious to the Baby Christening Invitations team, that is becoming more and more popular in Britain. So, listening to our customers wishes, we have created a beautiful range of new Baby Shower.

Apparently, the tradition was that a group of women (relatives and friends) would meet with a first time mother to celebrate the imminent arrival of her first born child, and to share advice, tips and stories as she approached motherhood. At the shower, the women not only share advice and stories. They may also play games such as guessing the baby’s date of birth, weight, sex, etc. although not all showers include games.

Baby Showers take often takes place in the mother’s house, however many celebrations are held at hired venues e.g. restaurants, hotels. Some even hold their shower at a spa for a day of pampering. This proves that the Baby Shower is celebrated as an occasion as big as a Christening or a Birthday.

The guests at the shower are expected to bring gifts for the mother and/or baby and these would normally be opened at the shower as part of the course of the party. The party is occasionally decorated around a theme sometimes personal to the mother, or more general themes are used like “It’s a Boy!” with a blue colour scheme, for example.

All in all, the sentiment of the Baby Shower is what is most appealing – where a mum-to-be is surrounded by her closest female friends and family supporting her and celebrating the coming of a new baby.

So, if you are considering organising a baby celebration take a look into our collection of baby shower invitations and christening invitations and remember that they are very important. They give your guests their first glimpse at what your event is going to involve and provides them with key information, e.g. venue, dress code, theme, and gift list (if you have one).

You’re Engaged!!

When couples get engaged, it is not always customary to have an engagement party. This really depends on the couple’s preferences. Some, who are planning to have their wedding relatively soon, may opt not to bother having an engagement party as this could be too close to the big day. But many couples do decide to have a engagement party. It’s always nice as an intial celebration for the couple, who have decided to take that next big step together. Also bear in mind that many couples these days choose to have a longer engagement in order to save for an extra special wedding.

The event itself is wholly dependant on the couple. Some may choose a lavish dinner and dance at a nice venue, whilst others may want a more relaxed and informal event such as a garden party. It is also a great opportunity for both families to meet, before the big day. As a method of announcing their engagement to family and friends, couples generally send out a engagement party invitation. Obviously close family and friends, i expect, would be told in person. But for those distant relatives, a invitation is an appropriate method. And just in time for all those recenly engaged couples, Baby Christening Invitations have launched a new selection of Engagement Party Invitations. These engagement cards come in a wide variety of design and colour, so you are sure to find something to suit your taste. The affordable cards come with good quality white envelopes and you can personalise your cards as you wish. So, if you are one of those loved up couples, have a look at the new range, and start planning your celebration.

Birthday Party Ideas – Teddy Bear Picnic

Christening Invitations

Cute teddy bear invitations for Boys

Not all birthday parties need to have a theme. Obviously kids will have fun regardless,as long as there are fun activities to keep them distracted. However, as well as themes being a nice idea, they may also make your life a little bit easier. Choosing a set theme gives you structure, direction and boundaries you wouldn’t have if you didn’t theme your party. Take the Fairy Princess theme as an example – immediately you think of pink and purple, so that sorts out your colour scheme. Beyond this, you think of things like wands, tiaras, glitter, Disney, etc. So by setting a theme, it could spark your imagination and allow you to structure the party, which is a good idea if your going to be having loads of children running around your house.

One of my most favorite kids party themes is the ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’. This theme is fantastic for young children up to 5 years old. Because all children this age have a favorite teddy, it’s a nice idea to allow them to bring their teddies along to the party.

Here are some fun ideas to create a great ‘Teddy Bear Picnic:

  • If the weather is nice, have the picnic in your garden, however if the weather isn’t so good, you are better to stay indoors.
  • Lay down a table cloth – red and white checks or polka dots give it an authentic picnic feel.
  • Bring a nice picnic basket- filled with loads of yummy party snacks.
  • Place teddy bears all around the garden/room and dress them up with ties, hats and holding cups, etc.
  • Play themed music such as Bare Necessities, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, and House on Pooh Corner.
  • Make large bear paw prints out of card and dot them about the party area. Alternatively you could have a paw print trail leading from your front door to the garden/party room.
  • Have bear themed food – like gummy bears and ginger bread bears, with a healthy option of course.
  • Play games such as a bear hunt, with paw print trails and clues, or pass the parcel where the winning present is a teddy bear.
  • Read stories like ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ or watch films like ‘Yogi Bear’.

Generally, as this theme caters for younger children up to the age of 5, you shouldn’t have to spend too much money creating the scene because the children are so young, they probably wont take it all in. But, by doing simple things like dressing up and posing teddy bears, you are sure to get a few giggles.

Displayed above is one of our most recent designs. This comes in either Blue or Pink and starts from only 50p per card. If you are considering having a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’, this card would be great to get the theme going. The great thing about these invitations is that they can be fully personalised, so you can write whatever you like on them.  As well as Birthday Invitations, these cards can be used for any occasion, e.g. for a Christening, Baptism, Naming Ceremony, Birth Announcement or you can even send them as Thank You cards.
